This roadmap provides an overview of the existing and developing standards in the field of neurotechnologies for brain-machine interfacing. The focus is on systems that provide a closed-loop interaction with artificial devices based on information extracted from measurements of activity in the nervous system.

This event is designed to inform the community of the brain data-driven efforts in the international arena, and open the discussion as to how we can combine our resources to achieve greater international cooperation in openly sharing data, AI and best practices - to enable us all to move forward synergistically.

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program focused on bringing more student developers into open source software development. Since 2011, the INCF network has served as a mentoring organization providing mentors from the neuroinformatics community.

Brainhack Warsaw aims to meet new, enthusiastic researchers, make new friendships in academia, learn, share the knowledge and also promote open science in the spirit of the whole Brainhack community .

INCF is calling for community proposals for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to be formed or renewed in early 2020. The call is open both to new and existing INCF SIGs.

SIGs are community-initiated groups where users and developers can meet and work collaboratively to develop, refine, and implement new community standards and best practices (SBPs) to be proposed for endorsement. The SIGs also serve as the focus for getting agreement and community buy-in on the use of these standards and best practices.

INCF will apply for GSoC 2020 and are now assembling mentors and ideas for projects. If you want to join us, email your project idea(s) to Malin Sandström (malin@incf.org) latest end of December.
